Follow responses to Barack Obama's historic Cairo speech LIVE - ردود الأفعال تجاه خطاب الرئيس الأمريكي باراك أوباما

Barack Obama has a pretty daunting task ahead of him if he is to win over the Muslim world in one speech.

But Time’s reporting his approval ratings are sky high.

So how will his all-crucial speech in Cairo on Thursday be received by the people of the region?

We are looking for new volunteer translators and citizen reporters (in addition to any existing Meedanis) to help report and translate reactions to Barack Obama’s speech in Cairo on Thursday 4 June.

This is going to be a massive event, and we want to put Americans in touch with as wide a set of Middle East voices as possible in response to the speech.

If you are interested in helping reply to this mail or tweet @meedan. You can also join us on IRC freenode #meedan on Thursday from 0600 GMT - feel free to join anytime. We believe the speech will be at 0930GMT (1230 local Cairo time).

We want to put people across Cairo and other Arab cities to get views from people onto www.Meedan.net.

We also want to live blog the speech and hear what commentators are saying around the Muslim world.
