Mirette, thanks for posting this. Here is the conundrum in 140 characters or less:

"Blogging makes publishing easy, microblogging makes publishing really easy. Understandably, this is the golden age for inuendo, halcyon days half-truth"

Fortunately, there is a human drive to attend to and expose untruths (equally to challenge 'the truth'). I am certain that systems will evolve to address vetting mechanisms on the RTW (real time web).
