- Mohamed Elmenshawy is the editor in chief of Taqrir Washington, and Arab Insight.
Taqrir is a free, weekly, online, Arabic language news service. Taqrir has provided free correspondence for Arab media outlets that do not have a presence in the United States, thereby bridging that gap in reporting, by allowing any news outlet to reprint articles from Taqrir Washington at no charge.
Arab Insight, is an innovative journal that features authoritative analyses from Middle Eastern experts on critical regional issues, seeks to improve the relationship between the United States and the Arab world by cultivating a better understanding of the complex issues facing the Middle East among American policy-makers and the public at large. Articles in Arab Insight do not represent any consensus of opinion. While readers may agree or disagree with the ideas set out in these articles, it is our purpose to present a diversity of views rather than subscribing to a particular body of beliefs.
Before joining Taqrir Washington, Elmenshawy worked as the managing editor for an Arabic-language bimonthly publication called Global Issues. He also served as a Washington correspondent for the daily pan-Arab newspaper Asharq Alawsat where he covered the White House, the State Department, and Congress. Elmenshawy is the author of several articles on Middle Eastern issues in such publications as International Herald Tribune and Christian Science Monitor.
Elmenshawy holds a master's degree in international relations and Middle Eastern politics from the University of Akron, Ohio and an MBA in international strategy from American University in DC. He earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Cairo University in Egypt.
